What
is "Problem Based Learning"?
Problem Based Learning is a unique process the is ideally
suited to adult learners. Instead of a classic lecture, the
facilitator draws the participants into a discussion that
utilizes their experiences and expertise to flesh out the
issues presented in a thought provoking case. Participants
look at the scenario piece by piece, discussing
one section at a time before moving to the next section.
As ideas are generated, the group has ownership and has a
vested interest in expanding their knowledge through a roundup
of remaining questions with the facilitator at the end of
the session.

How many participants can be involved?
These Problem Based Learning sessions are ideally situated for
small groups, up to 20 participants per facilitator. If there are
larger groups, the process can be modified to serve groups as large
as 300. The session works best in the small groups and we can set
up multiple sessions to accomodate the work schedule of your staff.
If a large group is the only possibility, let
us know and we'll
work to accomodate your needs.
